SEE FURTHER, THINK CLEARER, MOVE FASTER
Strategic Growth Partner for Founder-CEOs
I work with founder-CEOs when growth changes the shape of the business.
At certain stages, growth stops being about effort and starts being about architecture. Decisions carry broader consequence. Roles change. Complexity increases. What used to be obvious no longer is.
These are not routine moments. They are points where direction, structure, and long-term trajectory are being formed.
The work is about clarity, judgment, and deliberate movement when responsibility is real and choices compound.
As businesses evolve, second-order effects begin to matter. Incentives shape behavior. Structure influences speed. Trade-offs become less visible and more consequential.
My role is to help founder-CEOs see the full system clearly, work through what is actually in front of them, and move forward in a way that strengthens what the business is becoming.

WHAT THE WORK DOES
Within a partnership, we work directly on the architecture of growth.
This often includes:
➢ decisions that shape direction, structure, or long-term positioning
➢ transitions between stages, roles, or operating models
➢ moments where the business is stretching beyond its original design
➢ bottlenecks where clarity, not effort, is the limiting factor
We work across strategy, leadership, structure, sequencing, and capability — not as isolated topics, but as interacting parts of the same system.
The outcome is not speed for its own sake.
It is progress that holds.
WHEN THIS WORK IS USEFUL
Founder-CEOs usually reach out when:
➢ the business is growing, but complexity is increasing faster than clarity
➢ their role has expanded and feels materially different
➢ something needs to evolve, but forcing it would create new problems
➢ a next phase is forming and they want to shape it deliberately
These are not breakdowns.
They are natural moments in the evolution of a business.
Handled well, they compound strength.
Handled poorly, they compound fragility.
THE PARTNERSHIP
All of this work happens through a strategic partnership.
Sometimes I sit inside the business in an embedded, fractional capacity, participating directly in leadership rhythm and strategic architecture.
Other times, the work is external, focused primarily on sharpening the founder-CEO’s judgment and direction while they carry responsibility internally.
The structure adjusts.
The intent does not.
We work directly on what is current and consequential.
The focus shifts as needed, but the aim remains the same:
To shape growth deliberately, not reactively.
HOW PARTNERSHIPS BEGIN
Most partnerships start in one of these places:
Leading through a shift in scale
Growth, complexity, or ambition has outpaced the current structure.
Carrying decisions with compounding impact
Choices now influence teams, incentives, and long-term trajectory.
Approaching a new phase
Something needs to evolve, and how it evolves matters.
These are not separate services.
They are entry points into the same work.
WHO THIS IS FOR
This is for founder-CEOs who:
➢ carry responsibility for direction and outcomes
➢ want clarity more than reassurance
➢ understand that architecture matters as much as ambition
➢ prefer working decisions through rather than outsourcing judgment
Fit is usually clear after an initial conversation.
ABOUT
I’m Joss Warburton.
I’ve spent two decades working inside founder-led businesses, innovation systems, and global growth environments — including Dyson, PepsiCo, and CamelBak — building and scaling across technical, commercial, and leadership layers.
Across contexts, my role was consistent: shaping how growth was designed and executed without breaking the system underneath it.
Now, I partner directly with founder-CEOs navigating their own evolution.
